Hey Sugars,

Outside our Big City limits there are many adventures still to be had. Move over New York, London, even San Francisco! These chicks are crossing the border into suburbia.

Suburbanistas by Pamela Redmond Satran

Pamela Redmond Satran's Suburbanistas explores life in the outskirts. Stella Powers, top Hollywood movie star, has humble beginnings. Born in, raised in, and -fled from- the town of Homewood, New Jersey, Stella finds herself back where she started- decades later. With the passing of her mother and her soon to be divorce (or so the tabloids tell her), she attempts to make a new life for herself and her little girl. Reconnecting with her childhood best friend, Mary Jean, she thinks it just might be possible.

Mary Jean, Homewood resident through and through, has lived the polar opposite glamorous life of Stella. Nearing eviction due to the town's perpetual gentrification, she decides the only way to make a change for the good is to do it herself. But it appears to not be as easy as she hoped for. Especially when Stella and her own husband seem to be fraternizing with the enemy.

As the saying goes, "I suggest you not underestimate the staggering drawing power of the Garden State..." (Dogma). Find out for yourself what the critics are saying of Suburbanistas - and venture beyond the Bright Lights.
