Hey Sugars,
More Chick Lit is on its way to the Big Screen! We all know and love
the adaptation of Helen Fielding's wilding successful, mother of all
Chick Lit, spawn of this whole craze: Bridget Jone's Diary. More
recently its sequel, Edge of Reason, has managed us a quick tease. But
Girls, its just the beginning for Chick Lit on Film. Get ready for
Rachel's Holiday, The Devil Wears Prada, Fashionistas, The Nanny
Diaries, and I Don't Know How She Does It. Stars already cast for such
films include Kristen Dunst and Catherine Zeta Jones. Also coming, In Her Shoes starring Cameron Diaz and Room Service starring Jessica
Simpson.
If you are of equal opinion as us, the movie is much more enjoyable
when you have read the book first. So with this new and exciting news,
read up! Take this info with you while deciding your next good read.
Another reason not to judge a book by its cover alone!
Start this month with Jennifer Weiner's In Her Shoes. Two sisters with
nothing in common except the early loss of their mother, a critical
stepmother, and the same size shoes, turn to each other in times of
personal crisis. In an attempt to find a sense of family in a
dysfunctional setting, the pair's differences cannot be more apparent.
Rose is the plain yet successful Princeton graduate, while Maggie is
the younger, adrift sister. When an outrageous act of betrayal seems to
split the sisters for good, each woman takes separate paths to
self-discovery and reconciliation. Delve into the lives of the
Feller sisters and meet their long lost grandmother as these women
begin to find understanding and what it truly means to live in the
other's shoes. The movie starring Cameron Diaz is rumored to be released sometime in early 2005.
